Overview

ConnecZen ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal reflection companion that helps you process your thoughts through conversation and surfaces patterns from what you share. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our service.

Information We Collect

Account Information

Email address (for authentication)
Name (optional, for personalization)
Timezone (for scheduling features)

Spaces and Settings

Your account is organized into Spaces. Each user has one Personal Space and may join or create Group Spaces (e.g. work or family). We store the configuration you provide for each Space, including:

Space name, type (personal or group), and members (for group spaces)
Module and skill preferences (which features are enabled per Space)
Check-in and digest preferences (timing of scheduled messages)
Habit definitions you declare (for the Change module)
Nutrition targets, dietary preferences, and allergies (only if you enable the Meal Tracker module)

Conversation Data

Text messages you send to our chat companions
Voice messages, voice-room audio, and their transcriptions
AI-generated responses and conversation history

Derived Insights

ConnecZen extracts structured insights from your conversations to power reflection features and visualizations. Depending on which modules you have enabled, derived data may include:

Themes, recurring topics, people you mention, and life-area touches
Habit reflections, goal signals, and identity-tier observations
Meal logs, daily nutrition summaries, hunger and craving patterns, and hydration logs (Meal Tracker)
Decisions, action items, blockers, and summaries (Group work spaces)
A long-term memory graph that connects entities and events over time

Connected Accounts

Telegram user ID (if connected)
WhatsApp phone number (if connected)

How We Use Your Information

To provide personalized AI companion responses
To transcribe voice messages and voice-room audio into text
To extract themes, habits, goals, meals, and other structured insights from your conversations
To build long-term memory so the companion can reference past sessions
To generate visualizations and dashboards (e.g. mandala, network, wheel-of-life, nutrition summaries)
To deliver scheduled check-in and digest messages
To operate, secure, and improve our service

Group Spaces

When you participate in a Group Space, the messages, voice notes, and derived insights you contribute to that Space are visible to other members of the Space. Only share content in a Group Space that you are comfortable with other members seeing. You can leave a Group Space at any time; content you contributed before leaving remains visible to remaining members unless the Space is deleted by its owner.

Health and Nutrition Data

If you enable the Meal Tracker module, we store nutrition targets, dietary preferences, allergies, meal logs, hunger patterns, and hydration logs you provide. This data is used solely to help you self-track and reflect on your eating patterns. ConnecZen does not provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice, and this data is not reviewed by a healthcare professional. Disable the module at any time in your Space settings to stop collection.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide our functionality. Each service's own privacy policy governs the data it processes on our behalf:

OpenAI and Google

We use large language model APIs from OpenAI and Google (Gemini) for AI conversation, insight extraction, and voice transcription. Your messages are processed by these providers to generate responses and structured outputs. The companion recalls your history by querying the entries and insights already stored in your account, not an external memory graph.

LiveKit

We use LiveKit to power real-time voice conversations with your companion. Voice-room audio is transmitted through LiveKit infrastructure during a session.

If you connect via Telegram, messages are transmitted through Telegram's platform. Telegram's privacy policy applies to message delivery.

WhatsApp (Meta)

If you connect via WhatsApp, messages are transmitted through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta's privacy policy applies to message delivery.

Supabase

We use Supabase for authentication and primary data storage. Your account data, Space configuration, conversations, and derived insights are stored in Supabase's infrastructure.

Data Retention

Conversations and derived insights are retained for as long as your account is active
Voice-message audio files are retained according to your Space's audio-retention setting and expire automatically after the configured window; transcripts are retained per the conversation policy above
The long-term memory graph is retained alongside your account and is rebuilt or cleared when you reset or delete a Space
You can request deletion of your data at any time
Upon account deletion, your data is permanently removed within 30 days from our primary storage; copies held by sub-processors (e.g. memory graph, transit logs) are removed according to those sub-processors' deletion timelines

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and role-based access controls on our database. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data (see our Data Deletion page for instructions)
Export your data
Disable individual modules or skills in any Space at any time
Leave Group Spaces at any time
Disconnect your chat accounts at any time

Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
